Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, Director General of the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), conducted a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on September 26, 2024 at the TESDA Office in Taguig City, Philippines.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Dhameja formally introduced himself and CPSC to Hon. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, the newly appointed TESDA Director General and CPSC Governing Board Chairperson for the Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Prof. Dr. Dhameja also met some key persons in TESDA such as Ms. Charlyn Justimbaste, Executive Director of Planning Office; and Ms. Gemma Reyes, TESDA Chief of Foreign Relations and Project Development Division.

CPSC and TESDA have a longstanding partnership in continuously enhancing TVET systems in the Philippines and across Asia Pacific region. As part of strengthening their ties and cooperation, Prof. Dr. Dhameja and Hon. Benitez discussed future collaborative programs for the Filipino professional staff, which may explore the areas of research, pedagogies with digital technologies, competency-based program design, instructional/modularized/portable design, curriculum development, and artificial intelligence (AI) in TVET.

In addition, CPSC maps out affirming its partnership on accreditation with TESDA to lead TVET institutions in the Philippines in regulating the policies and quality of TVET in the country.
